The Lonely Day Allegory.

The moment when you realize not all is as it should be.

The moment when you realize you’re not as happy as you’d like to be.

The moment when you realize you feel completely alone.

The moment when you realize your life seems empty.

The moment when you feel like everyone else is better than you.

The moment when you think everyone else has everything you want.

The moment when you feel like a shitty friend.

The moment when you remember you’re completely broke.

The moment when you spend your last dollar on something completely un-necessary.

The moment when you realize how much money you owe, compared to how much you make.

The moment you remember you are still heartbroken because he still doesn’t love you.

The moment you go outside and feel winter has arrived.

The moment you want to be anywhere else, except for where you presently are.

The moment you think of every obscure memory you can remember.

The moment you try to think of a quick fix and can’t.

The moment you imagine running away.

The moment you log on to Facebook and you have no notifications.

The moment you get home.

The moment you take to appreciate walking into heat, out of cold.

The moment you realize having your own room is better than not having a home.

The moment you remember this time last month you didn’t have a home.

The moment you remember you have an uncashed paycheck on your desk.

The moment you realize you’re not hungry, starving and unable to nourish yourself.

The moment you finish watching the first feel good Christmas movie of the season.

The moment you put up your Christmas tree and start playing your spotify Christmas playlist.

The moment your roommates come to admire your Christmas tree and help decorate it.

The moment a roommate gives you an early Christmas present.

The moment you respond to birthday comments on facebook and remember how you met everyone.

The moment you remember how great it once was, and will be again.

The moment you realize you are one job away from being back to normal.

The moment you rediscover your wanderlust.

The moment you finally want something again.

The moment a friend randomly texts to say they’re thinking about you.

The moment you laugh to yourself about the great weekend you just had.

The moment you feel you can get through this.

The moment you are thankful for all that you have.

The moment you are grateful for all that you have.

The moment you realize everything will be OK.

The moment you know you’re not going to give up.

The moment you decide to put one foot in front of the other.

The moment you take that first step.

The moment you freeze in fear from taking the first step.

The moment you see your hope for the future is stronger than your pain of the present.

The moment you realize you are loved.

The moment you remember your faith in the universe.

The moment you breathe in acceptance of what is.

The moment you agree you did everything you can do today and so you’ll try again tomorrow.

The moment you decide to carry on.
